Interbay Blvd. closed due to damaged fire hydrant, sinkhole

Tampa, Florida -- The Tampa Water Department has announced the closure of a South Tampa road for repairs after a vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant causing a water main break and resulted in a sinkhole.

Crews have closed both directions of Interbay Boulevard between South 6th Street and South Sheridan Road to repair a section of the road after a fire hydrant was damaged earlier Monday morning. Detour routes are marked for traffic in the area of MacDill and Himes avenues.

FDOT announces construction lane closures for Dec. 16 - 22

Hillsborough Co., FL-- The Florida Department of Transportation has announced the construction lane closures to keep an eye out for this coming week.

They are as follows:

Dale Mabry Highway between Kennedy Boulevard and Hillsborough Avenue

Concrete repair/resurfacing – Nightly lane closures Monday - Thursday from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Northbound Florida Avenue between Kennedy Boulevard and East Violet Street

Leaky water main causes partial closure of roadway

Tampa, Florida -- The Tampa Water Department reports that there will be partial closure of a South Tampa road due to a leaky water main beginning tomorrow morning.

The department says the eastbound lane of West Mississippi Avenue will be closed between South Carolina and South Moody avenues beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6 while crews work on the water main. Road flaggers will be at the site to direct local traffic through this section of Mississippi.

Westbound Selmon Expressway now open to 2 lanes

Tampa, FL-- The westbound Selmon Expressway (SR 618) is now open to two lanes after it was reduced to one lane back in December 2011 from just west of Morgan Street (Exit 7) to the Brorein Street entrance ramp.

This comes just in time for the Thanksgiving and holiday season commute!

HART offers free rides on Election Day

Hillsborough County, Florida -- On Election Day, Nov. 6, HART will offer free rides to customers with a valid voter registration card.

The card must be presented to the driver when boarding to receive the free ride.

Free rides are provided during regular bus service hours on Election Day. Riders should determine in advance which routes will get them to or near their polling site.
