Great American Cleanup a success

Town 'N Country, Florida -- Community members showed how much they "Love Where They Live" by participating in the 2013 Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful Great American Cleanup!

People of all ages checked in at over 84 locations to demonstrate that they love it here in the Tampa Bay area by joining hands and volunteering in this national community improvement event!

MONEY MONDAY: Alonso High's cash goes to A-team bash!

Tampa, Florida-- We've been telling you how we found almost $100,000 for a local school system that was just sitting in a state unclaimed cash and property account- $3,000 of which was for Alonso High School.

Ronald McDonald House to honor Olympian at annual gala

Tampa Bay, Florida - Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay is pleased to announce that Brandon native, Chris Colwill has been selected as the recipient of the 2013 Award of Excellence. 

A presentation of the award will take place at the 14th annual Storybook Ball "Madeline" on Saturday, May 18 at A La Carte Event Pavilion in Tampa.

Tampa, Florida-- Before the days when urban sprawl snuffed the life out of downtown Tampa's shopping scene, Maas Brothers was the clear giant. 

It stood in the middle of downtown for more than 100 years, but corporate consolidation would eventually spell its doom. The brand was absorbed and later dissolved.

Tampa business park getting sleek, modern makeover

Tampa, Florida-- Tampa Bay Park, the lush and beautifully landscaped business complex off MLK in Tampa, is about to look even better.

Highwoods Properties, owner of the office park, is planning a massive $5 million renovation that will add stunning new modern sculptures and make access to the water on the property the focus. 

Included in the revamped design will be shaded seating and docks that will give people direct access to the luxurious ponds.

Tampa, Florida-- The numbers are in, and they are up! More homes were sold last month in the Tampa Bay area than in in the past seven years combined.

According to MLS figures, 3,100 homes were sold in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties last month, a 7 percent increase compared to the same month in 2012.

Home sales prices also increased, up 22 percent over the same time period. 

The average home in the Tampa Bay area sold for $150,000.

Does your baby formula contain GMOs?

Consumer advocacy groups say if your baby formula contains, soy, corn or dairy, there is a good chance it also contains genetically modified ingredients.

Unlike 60 other countries, the United States does not require formula or food companies to let you know they are using genetically modified ingredients on the label. A bill to require GMO labeling of foods in Florida was defeated.
