Hillsborough county offers free online classes on financial management

Hillsborough, Florida -- Hillsborough County Extension Service, in association with with the University of Florida Extension and Okaloosa, Duval and Lake County Extension offices, is offering free live interactive online classes on financial management. 

The classes, dates and times are as follows:

Online job fair for Tampa Bay's youth

Clearwater, Florida -- From May 12 to May 18, people will have access to job opportunities through an online job fair targeting job seekers ages 14 to 24. 

The hiring event will span a four-county radius including Manatee, Sarasota, Hillsborough and Pinellas. 

“The virtual job fair is an opportunity to connect youth with employment so that they may gain the skills and experience necessary to become successful future members of the workforce,” said Edward Peachey, President and CEO of the Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance and WorkNet Pinellas.

"Suspicious package" reported at Tampa Airport post office

Tampa, Florida-- The Tampa bomb squad is investigating a suspicious package at the Tampa Airport post office.

The post office was evacuated just as a precaution around 8 p.m.

Air traffic has not been affected.

Mail carriers collect food for Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!

Carrollwood, Florida - Mail carriers will take part in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

Residents can leave non-perishable food item by their mailbox and the letter carrier will pick it up. The food will be donated to food banks to distribute to needy citizens.

Last year, over 70-million pounds of food was donated across the country.

If you cannot leave food items by your mailbox, you can drop it by your local post office.

Could Bucs fans see an end to bothersome blackouts?

Tampa, Florida-- Bucs fans could finally see some relief from those irritating TV blackouts, but the key word here is "could". 

In order for this to happen, Congress would have to pass a bill proposed by Senator John McCain- one that would ban blackouts...sort of.

McCain argues taxpayer dollars fund the stadiums, so they should have the right to watch the games played in them on their own time.
