3 teens arrested after egg tossing attack | News

TAMPA, Florida -- Three teens accused of seriously injuring the eye of a jogger on Bayshore Boulevard by throwing eggs from a passing car, have now bonded out of jail.

Tampa detectives arrested 17-year-old Daniel Borgeson, as well as 16 year olds Patrick Wasp and Tyler Metzger on Monday.

17-year-old Noah Grant was running with his Robinson High School cross country team Sunday night when he was hit in the eye. He suffered a fractured eye socket, mild concussion, and pieces of egg were left in his eye.

The three teens face felony charges.

Arrest reports state Borgeson attends Jesuit High School, while Metzger goes to Robinson High School.

It's unclear if he knows the victim in the case, but investigators say the attack was completely random.

Police said Tuesday the teens admitted to throwing the eggs and were very remorseful once in custody.

Officers tell 10 News the trio has been given home detention, which limits where they are allowed to go while out on bond.

Tampa detectives say they've also received other recent complaints about someone throwing eggs at pedestrians in the South Tampa and Davis Islands areas.

The vehicle involved matches the description of the one police say the three teens were driving.

Those cases are still under investigation.
