Orlando, Fla. -- The Plant Panthers claimed the 8A State Title on Saturday night beating out Miramar 31-20.
The Panthers are no stranger to the title game making the trip 5 of the last 6 years and winning 4 times.
In the 1st quarter, Wesley Bullock broke off a 21-yard touchdown run to put Plant up 7-0.
Miramar would tie up the score at 7-7 in the first, but Plant answered as quarterback James Few rushed 8 yards for the score. Plant led 24-7 at the half.
The Patriots would make a charge though, Malcolm Lewis caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from Camren Hudge and Miramar would cut the lead to just 4 points.
But with 6 minutes left in the game, Tate Rogers had a fumble recovery for the score and Plant held off Miramar 31-20 to claim the 8A State Title.
