Free workouts for teens at Lifestyle Family Fitness canceled? | Health
Tampa, Florida -- It appears that now that LA Fitness has taken over Lifestyle Family Fitness, the company has done away with Lifestyle's popular free summer workout offer for teens.
A viewer emailed 10 News to inform us that her daughter was turned away at the front desk at her former Lifestyle gym when she tried to sign up for the program.
The program previously allowed 12 - 17-year-olds to workout for free for the summer at their various locations.
In a release on their website about the acquisition the company states:
LA Fitness will be honoring all of the active membership agreements that it purchased from Lifestyle Family Fitness. All active Lifestyle Family Fitness multi-club memberships will be honored at their current rate, and these multi-club members will have access to all Lifestyle Family Fitness locations acquired by LA Fitness. Similarly, all active single club members will be honored at their current rate with the same access they have now to the Lifestyle Family Fitness location where they joined.
Even though the program is free, there is no word yet on whether the company is honoring those currently participating in the program.
10 News has reached out to LA Fitness for a response and has yet to hear back.
