Junior League of Tampa Holiday Gift Market

Tampa, FL-- Please join the Junior League of Tampa for Tampa Bay’s favorite shopping weekend! We will kick off the 9th annual Holiday Gift Market November 9-11, 2012, creating “A Whimsical Wonderland” at the Florida State Fairgrounds’ Expo Hall.

As the major fundraising event for The Junior League of Tampa, 100% of net proceeds from the Holiday Gift Market will support the League’s programs and community projects in child welfare and education.

Community $5 Day at MOSI tomorrow!

Tampa, FL-- The Museum of Science and Industry will host Community $5 day tomorrow- a day which allows everyone in for a $5 admission charge.

MOSI hosts several $5 Days each year to allow community members of all incomes access to MOSI exhibit galleries, including The Amazing You exhibition, Kids In Charge!, the largest children’s science center in the nation, and more than 450 hands-on, interactive exhibits.

MOSI to host Hillsborough Brain Bowl

Tampa, FL-- The Museum of Science & Industry will host the Hillsborough County Public School’s Brain Bowl event tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

As many as 400 students will participate in science trivia and experiments, including a “Quiz Bowl,” trebuchet contest, mousetrap car competition, chemical equation balancing competition, demo contest and a poster contest.

Students qualified at their schoolsto make it to the final Brain Bowl at MOSI.

Seminole Heights Library to triple in size

Tampa, FL-- The Seminole Heights Branch Library will close at the end of the day on Wednesday, October 31, for the demolition and construction of a new replacement library. This heavily-used neighborhood library will be rebuilt in the same location, but the new library will be triple its previous size to meet the needs of the community.
