Hillsborough County, Florida-- Tampa Police Join Local and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies in Drug Take-Back Operation TPD officers collected 163 pounds of prescription pills during Operation Medicine Cabinet last August
What: Tampa Police Officers, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputies, Temple Terrace Police Officers and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Agents will collect unused or expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications from citizens in an effort to prevent them from getting into the wrong hands.
When: April 28, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Where: Sweetbay Supermarket, 2525 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa Sweetbay Supermarket, 2535 State Road 60 East, Valrico Museum of Science and Industry, 4801 East Fowler Avenue, Tampa Temple Terrace Police Department, 11250 North 56th Street, Temple Terrace
Details: Tampa Police officers along with several Bay Area law enforcement agencies are taking part in Operation Medicine Cabinet as part of an ongoing effort to crackdown on illegal pill mills. On April 28, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
citizens will be able to drop off any medication they no longer use to one of four law enforcement collection sites. Tampa Police Department will host its drug take-back initiative at the Sweetbay Supermarket, located at 2525 North Dale Mabry Highway. Additional law enforcement collection sites will be available throughout Hillsborough County.
Citizens who wish to get rid of any unwanted medications can remain anonymous.
