Hillsborough County, Florida -- Hillsborough County Schools has released all major school events going on now through the end of March. 

Thursday, March 22 -- Brewster Technical Center, 5 - 8 p.m.

The school will host an open house for current and prospective students, and their families.  Brewster is one of five technical centers in Hillsborough County Public Schools offering educational opportunities in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), adult basic education, GED, technical programs, job training, and programs for adults with disabilities.  

Financial aid is available for qualified students and programs.  Brewster Technical Center is located at 2222 N. Tampa St., Tampa.  Contact Franca Washington at 813-276-5448.

Friday, March 23 -- Hillsborough County Elementary Music Educators Council, 4 - 7 p.m.

The 4th annual multicultural festival will be held at Philip Shore Elementary Magnet School.  The festival will include art exhibits from schools around the county, music performances, a variety of international instruments for students to play, and international children’s games.

 The Philip Shore PTA will sell tacos from Mexico, subs from Italy, waffles from Belgium, and bratwurst from Germany.

Saturday, March 24 -- Citrus Park Elementary School, 5 - 9 p.m.

The school will hold its annual spring carnival which will include games, crafts, music, a giant slide, bounce house, refreshments, and silent auction.

Saturday, March 24 -- Essrig Elementary School, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The school will celebrate its 25th anniversary with festivities including a rededication, school tours, video and memorabilia displays, chorus performances, and light refreshments.  Several School Board members and the superintendent will attend.

Saturday, March 24 -- Coleman Middle School, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The school will celebrate its 50th anniversary with festivities that will begin with a trip down memory lane presentation in the gymnasium, followed by entertainment from the Coleman band and orchestra. Several School Board members and the superintendent will attend, as well as former Coleman principals recalling events from 1962 to 2012.  Refreshments will be provided.

Saturday, March 24 -- Robinson High School

The school's foundation will host it's 2nd Annual gala "A Knight in the Tropics" at the Mainsail Hotel and Conference Center.  The event will include a cocktail reception, dinner, music, and live and silent auctions.  Funds raised will go toward the installation and upgrade of classroom technology, campus-wide.

Friday, March 30 -- Valrico Elementary School, 6 - 8 p.m.

English language learners (ELL) and their families are participating in a celebrate diversity potluck dinner.  Valrico Elementary has students from 15 countries who are learning English as a second language.  These families are gathering together to share a favorite dish from their respective country.  

Additionally, musician and primal instrument maker Abasi Ote, and the Progress Village Middle Magnet School dancers, will perform.  Student art will be displayed and parents will participate in art activities with their children.

Friday, March 30 -- Bryant Elementary School

Bryant 5th grader Nishank Rangarajan, a Florida National Geographic Bee semifinalist, will compete at the 2012 Florida National Geographic Bee at Jacksonville University.
