Tampa, Florida-- Have you ever wondered who makes the best burger in Tampa Bay?

If so, be sure to attend the Burger Showdown on May 4 from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, put on by Friends of the Riverwalk. 

According to an Eventfest release, for $45, guests can chow down on an endless number of burgers from competing Tampa Bay restaurants including: Ashley Street Grille, BGR The Burger Joint, Burger 21, Champions Bar & Grill, Chili’s, Datz, Green Iguana Bar & Grill, Lee Roy Selmon’s, Square 1 Burgers & Bar, Stacked Burgers, the Tampa Convention Center/Aramark and more!

The entry fee also allows for dessert and two drink tickets. 

$95 gains you VIP status, with endless burgers, dessert, entry to the open bar reception and dancing on the Yacht StarShip. 

Mayor Bob Buckhorn serves as honorary chair and Jack Harris MCs as the votes are tallied and the Best Burger in the Bay is declared. 

Your vote will contribute to the naming of the People's Choice Award best burger, while a panel of judges will name the true Best Burger in the Bay.

The panel consists of  three culinary chefs from the Bay area community: Ralph Underwood II, culinary educator and owner of Mahoganii Enterprises, Kenneth “Hollywood” Robinson, Culinary Arts Instructor at Blake High School and Michael Rigberg, Chef Instructor of the Culinary Arts Academy at Land O’ Lakes High School.

Local celebrities Steve Otto, Columnist for the Tampa Tribune, Jeff Houck, the Tampa Tribune’s Food Writer and two Clear Channel radio on-air personalities (620 WDAE and 970 WFLA) Ron Diaz and Corey Dylan, make up the remainder of the panel.
