Two arrests made in relation to Sgt Aparicio robbery

Tampa, Florida-- Detectives have arrested two suspects in relation to the violent robbery of Sgt Johnny Aparicio that occurred on Sunday, May 13.

According to Tampa PD, detectives received dozens of tips throughout the week with potential suspect names, and the same names were consistent in many of the calls.

Lead Detective Tim DeGusipe sorted through each lead and interviewed the suspects.

VIDEO: U.S. Army soldier brutally beaten in South Tampa

Tampa, Florida -- Police want your help finding four men who teamed up to beat a young U.S. Army soldier in a South Tampa street.

It was an awful welcome to Tampa Bay for a young soldier. Police say the victim of a violent beating caught on camera is 24 years old and has lived in Tampa for less than a month.

He's a U.S. Army soldier assigned to MacDill Air Force Base and lives not far from the base at Dale Mabry Hwy. and Interbay Blvd.

Police say Sunday morning, at around 3 a.m., the soldier's car broke down a few miles from home along Westshore Blvd.

Detectives searching for violent robbery suspects

Tampa, FL - Tampa Police Detectives are searching for suspects linked to a violent robbery on May 13th, 2012 near S. Renellie Dr and W. Iowa Ave.

As the victim was walking eastbound on Iowa Avenue, the suspects approached him and one of the suspects asked him for a dollar. As he replied, three of the suspects began to hit him in the face and upper body causing him to fall to the ground.

Man commits crime, 16 minutes after release from jail

Tampa, Florida -- It didn't take long for a criminal to fall back into old habits.

Tampa Police say that minutes after 22-year-old Marcus Hunt was released from jail, he assaulted a man and stole his bicycle.

Hunt had just bonded out on Saturday afternoon on charges of fleeing and attempting to elude police and not having a valid driver's license. About 16 minutes after his release, he allegedly approached a man on a bicycle, punched him in the face and made off with the bike, valued at $190.

Bay area doctor charged with child porn

Tampa, Florida - Tampa Police have arrested a Bay area doctor and charged him with 33 counts of possession of child pornography.

Dr. James Murphy, 49, is an anesthesiologist at Bayfront Medical Center. Tampa police Sgt. Bill Todd says Dr. Murphy lives at Casa Bella Luxury Apartments in South Tampa and earns half a million dollars a year.

"Probably has a higher level of trust, because he has people's lives in his hands," says Sgt. Todd.

Teen gets 3 DUIs in 3 weeks

Tampa, Florida -- An 18-year-old has been charged with three DUIs in the last 17 days.

Kimberly McCarthy faced a Hillsborough County judge Monday morning. The judge gave her some extra time to find an attorney, because she does not qualify for a public defender.

Another hearing is set for next week. In the meantime, McCarthy remains free on bail.

According to arrest reports, alcohol only played a role in one of McCarthy's three arrests. McCarthy told reporters at the courthouse she wasn't drunk -- but she was smoking pot.
