Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police say they have made an arrest involving the death of a man found under a car outside a church Thursday morning.
Police say Michael Stewart Martson stabbed Rolando Rivera-Arroyo and then ran him over after a disagreement in the parking lot of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Around 4:15 a.m., an officer found Martson walking at Henderson Boulevard and Swann Avenue who took him to Memorial Hospital for a broken finger he apparently suffered during the attack.
During their investigation Thursday, police identified Martson as a suspect and when they got to the hospital to arrested him, he fought them off violently, however, no officers were injured.
Tampa Police go on to say, before the murder, Martson had burglarized a storage area at his ex-wife's apartment in the 3300 block of De Leon Street taking various items and damaging property. Detectives recovered the property in the parking lot where the murder took place.
Martson, 33, has been charged with Second Degree Murder, Resist Arrest with Violence, Illegal Dumping, Burglary, Petit Theft, Criminal Mischief.
Tampa Police have not been able to reach any of 73-year-old Rolando Rivera-Arroyo's family members and are hoping someone will come forward.
