Tampa, Florida-- On top of all the other benefits that Patel Conservatory students receive, this year students have the chance to take a new music study class for free.
The Fundamentals of Music class covers the basics of music reading, terminology and notation and is open to those in fourth grade through adults. Youth and high school students who are enrolled in another Patel Conservatory class can take this class for free; adults will be charged a fee.
For students taking Rock School, musical theater, voice or instrument classes, Fundamentals of Music is a perfect supplement. Held on Saturdays, this is also a great class for anyone wishing to know more about music, to delve into its intricacies and to understand its nuances.
Due to the Patel Conservatory’s recent accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement, students may be able to get academic credit from their schools for this class and any of the other 100+ Patel Conservatory classes.
More information about the Patel Conservatory at the Straz Center is available by calling 813-222-1002 and by visiting www.patelconservatory.org.
