Tampa, Florida -- Students who are planning their schedules for this coming school year may be thrilled to hear they may be able to take performing arts classes at the Straz Center's Patel Conservatory - and earn class credit while having a great time!
Due to the Patel Conservatory's recent accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement, students can now get class credit for Patel Conservatory classes, if their school is on board with the idea.
Registration is now open for Patel Conservatory classes, which start Sept. 4. Classes are offered in dance, theater and music for all age groups and abilities.
Selected classes require placement auditions, held to help instructors decide in which level students should be placed. These auditions will be held:
- Aug. 11 for theater classes and the Patel Conservatory Youth Theater's Kiss Me, Kate
- Aug. 13 - 15 for Rock School classes
- Aug. 13 - 15 for Patel Conservatory Youth Orchestra and Pit Orchestra for Kiss Me, Kate
- Aug. 18 for Patel Conservatory Youth Ballet
Scholarships and financial aid are available. More information is available at www.patelconservatory.org and by calling 813-222-1002.
