Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn is excited about the near completion of the Promenade of the Arts, the section of Zack Street between Curtis Hixon Park and the Old Federal Courthouse.
In his weekly views, Buckhorn says, "Zack Street is the critical link between Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on the river and the Classic Federal Court House, soon to become a boutique hotel. "
According to Buckhorn, "The increased pedestrian activity alone will stimulate economic growth and transform Zack Street."
The Promenade will have a wider pedestrian walkway, landscaping and will feature the works from various artists that highlight Tampa's history. One of the artists, Susan Gott has created 18 glass pieces for the project.
