Tampa Police Corporal Scott Guffey resigns amid sex scandal | People

Tampa, Florida -- A 24-year veteran of the Tampa Police Department has resigned after being relieved from duty. He allegedly had sex in his unmarked cruiser while working.

A TPD spokesperson said 46-year-old Corporal Scott Guffey was confronted with the evidence and decided to resign.

Sources say the Criminal Investigation Bureau launched an investigation after receiving complaints. He allegedly had sex with a 24-year-old woman in a city park.

Guffey -- who made $80,433 a year -- is still eligible to collect his pension, which amounts to more than $60,000 a year for the rest of his life.
