Health advisory issued for Davis Island Beach

Tampa, Florida -- A Health Advisory has been issued for Davis Island Beach based on the the amount of bacteria found in the water.

Samples taken Monday, June 10, were above threshold for enterococci bacteria.

Water quality categorizations are based upon the EPA's recommended standard for enterococci bacteria found in the water. At this time, the beach should be considered a potential risk to the bathing public.

'PlayStation predator' arrested for luring CA teen to Tampa

Tampa, Florida - Imagine your child goes missing, then you find out they're on a plane heading to the other side of the country.

It happened to a 14-year-old California boy who Escondido Police say was enticed by a Tampa man who contacted him through a Playstation online game.

Tampa man accused of kidnapping San Diego teen

Tampa, Florida-- Tampa Police are assisting the Escondido, Calif. Police Department in a teen kidnapping investigation after a Tampa man was taken into custody at Tampa International Airport on Tuesday.

According to Escondido PD, the investigation launched Monday after the parents of a 14-year-old boy from Escondido reported him missing when he did not come home from school.

Wanted Tampa murder suspect caught in Georgia

Tampa, Florida -- A tip to Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay has led to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a man outside a home back in April 2012.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says 28-year-old Fabian Williams was taken into custody in Sylvester, Georgia without incident and has since been transferred to the Hillsborough County Jail where he is being held without bond on charges of first degree murder and robbery with a firearm.

Gen. Schwarzkopf honored at MacDill

Tampa, FL -- What do Bobby Bowden, Jeb Bush, Henry Plant, Lawton Chiles, Ben Hill Griffin, Jr., and the late General Norman Schwarzkopf all have in common? They're all recipients of the prestigious Great Floridian award.

Schwarzkopf passed away in December. He and his wife Brenda called the Tampa Bay area home during his retirement, and he gave his time and money to a variety of causes and charities. His wife accepted the award Tuesday afternoon at a ceremony at MacDill's Central Command with Governor Rick Scott.

Hillsborough to hold code violation public hearing Monday

Tampa, Florida-- Community code violations will be up for review as the Hillsborough County Code Enforcement Special Magistrate hosts a public hearing next week.

The hearing is scheduled for Monday June 17^th at 9 a.m., and will be held in the second Floor Board Room at the County Center, 601 East Kennedy Blvd. in Downtown Tampa.

2 escape from Tampa house fire

Tampa, Florida -- Two people were able to escape a fire that engulfed their home in the Clair Mel area early Tuesday morning.

Hillsborough Fire Rescue crews say they arrived at the home in the 2400 block of Wishing Well Way around 7:10 this morning and when they got there, the home was engulfed with heavy smoke and flames coming through roof.
