Hillsborough County – It’s time to add a little spice to your life! Shake your hips and dance the most popular dance style in Tampa, Salsa!

Beginning Thursday, Jan. 19, Latin Night will take over the David A. Straz Center and will continue to sizzle the dance floor once a month on a Thursday night from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m.

There will be live music featuring Nalisio & Son Salvaje Latin Band and a FREE 30-minute dance lesson.

Platt Street Bridge has reopened

Tampa, Florida -- No more detours. The Platt Street Bridge has reopened, taking the first drivers in months from South Tampa to Downtown Tampa.

After three and a half months of renovations to the bridge's machinery, the bridge opened back up at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to traffic moving from South Tampa into Downtown.

MLK Day Blood Drive

January is the month of highest blood usage by patients in Tampa Bay.  In addition, there is a critical need for more minority donors on the National Marrow Donor Program's 'Be The Match' Registry. 

Therefore, 10 News has teamed up with Bealls to sponsor the 10 News Martin Luther King Day Blood & Marrow Donor Registry Drive, on Monday, January 16, 2012. 

Florida Blood Services bloodmobiles will be located, from 12 Noon until 6 p.m., at select Tampa Bay area Bealls stores and Blood Center Donation Centers. 

Early voting begins in Hillsborough County

TAMPA, Florida (AP) - Voters in five Florida counties are going to the polls and casting ballots in the presidential primary.

Early voting began Monday in Hillsborough, Hardy, Hendry, Monroe and Collier counties, five days ahead of the South Carolina primary. Early voting begins in Florida's other 62 counties on Saturday.

South Tampa woman warns of apparent scam

TAMPA, Fla. -- A South Tampa woman is warning everyone in the Bay area to be aware of what appears to be a scam.

Jennifer Brauer said a man came to her house along West Vasconia Street selling magazines on Friday. She said he was very charismatic, outgoing, and complimentary. According to Brauer, the salesman said he worked for "Leaders of the Future," a mentoring organization to help disadvantaged people gain success. She didn't want to buy magazines, but ended up donating $50 to a listed charity that the man said he would get points for.
