"You collect pins from the other pirates and put them on your hat; so I need a hat," says Fawn Meehan, who will participate in the parade with the Peg Leg Pirates.

Tampa, FL -- The Buccaneers are currently accepting nominations for the 3rd Annual "Road to Success" program, a team community initiative that will provide one person in need with the keys to a 2012 Ford Focus.

If you have a friend, coworker or family member who would truly benefit from a new vehicle, the Buccaneers want to know.

All applications must be received by 5 p.m. ET on Jan. 31. Only complete applications will be considered and only one entry per person is allowed.

Tampa, Florida -- The minarets at the University of Tampa will be resonating with the music of Bach, Mendlessohn, Langlais and Maurice Durufle Friday Jan. 27.

University Organist Ryan Herbet is presenting a faculty organ concert.

The event is from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. at U.T. 401 West Tampa in downtown Tampa. The event is free and open to the public.

The pirates are coming! Gasparilla is here!

Tampa, Florida --  On Saturday, more than 300,000 people are expected to descend upon Bayshore Boulevard and downtown Tampa to witness an invasion!

Arrrgg!  Gasparilla is here!  Since 1904, pirates with Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla have invaded Tampa Bay, but have you ever wondered how the parade grew to what it is today? 

We spoke with YMKG's Historian Dr. Bill Carson to find out how Gasparilla came to be.

2012 Gasparilla: What you need to know

Tampa, Florida --  If you plan on heading to Tampa to celebrate Gasparilla, we want to pass along some rules and parking information from the City of Tampa and Tampa Police.

A reminder... don't forget about the Zero Tolerance Policy!  Police will be enforcing the city's new ordinance which allows them to write citations if you are caught with an open container of alcohol outside of the parade route, rather than taking you to jail.
