All lanes now open Kennedy Blvd after semi crash

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police reopened all lanes on Kennedy Boulevard between Hale Avenue and Dale Mabry around 8:30 Thursday morning after a semi crash involving a police cruiser.

Police say the 18-wheeler tried to make a wide U-turn and failed to observed the police vehicle.  The 18-wheeler's tank was ruptured spilling diesel into the roadway.

Hazmat responded to clean up the road. No word yet on any injuries.

High Hopes in High Heels hosts cocktail stroll for cancer

Tampa, Florida-- South Howard Avenue will absolutely be a hit this weekend as the women of High Heels in High Hopes host a charity cocktail stroll and scavenger hunt to benefit the Children's Cancer Center of Tampa Bay.

On Friday, pub crawlers will not only take advantage of drink specials at some of SoHo's most select spots, but they'll also have a chance to win great prizes while mingling and making a difference. 

Suspect breaks into store, steals cigarettes

Tampa, Florida -- A food store has been broken into twice within two weeks. 

On April 28 an unknown suspect removed a small window to the front of the Quick Food Store on Manhattan Avenue in Tampa. The suspect stole 25 cartons of Marlboro cigarettes and some change. 

The same store was broken into on April 22 as well, using same entry point with cigarettes and lottery tickets being stolen.

Clouds and rain back in the forecast today

Clouds and a few sprinkles are have rolled in this morning, but more rain is headed this way later today.  The unsettled weather continues into Friday before we gradually see decreasing rain chances through Sunday.

Wednesday A 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. East winds 10-15 mph. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

7th graders set off acid bomb on school campus

Tampa, Florida -- Two seventh grade students were arrested after setting off an acid bomb at the school Tuesday morning.

Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies say around 9:08 a.m. during class changes the small explosion occurred on a walkway on the east side of Dowdell Middle School between two buildings.

No one was injured and there wasn't any property damage.

Great American Cleanup a success

Town 'N Country, Florida -- Community members showed how much they "Love Where They Live" by participating in the 2013 Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful Great American Cleanup!

People of all ages checked in at over 84 locations to demonstrate that they love it here in the Tampa Bay area by joining hands and volunteering in this national community improvement event!

MONEY MONDAY: Alonso High's cash goes to A-team bash!

Tampa, Florida-- We've been telling you how we found almost $100,000 for a local school system that was just sitting in a state unclaimed cash and property account- $3,000 of which was for Alonso High School.

Alonso Parents wanted to know how they would spend the money, so we followed up with Principal Louie Diaz to get the scoop.
